The Irish American community is mourning the loss of David “Dave” Waters, a cherished member of the Irish American Heritage Society, whose lifelong dedication to service, friendship, and community left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
In a heartfelt announcement, the Irish American Heritage Society shared the news of Dave Waters’ passing, describing him as a beloved member whose generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment helped strengthen the organization and the wider community. Dave was widely recognized for the countless hours he devoted to the Society’s activities. He played an important role in organizing and supporting the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, where his volunteer efforts helped create a meaningful celebration of Irish heritage and culture. He was also a familiar face at Arts in the Heart, where he generously volunteered his time preparing food and helping ensure the event’s success year after year.
Beyond his volunteer work, Dave will be remembered for his welcoming personality, quick sense of humor, and genuine compassion for others. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or encouraging fellow volunteers, he embodied the spirit of community that defines the Irish American Heritage Society. Family, friends, and fellow Society members will gather to celebrate Dave’s life and honor his memory during a Funeral Mass on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. before the service. Members of the Irish American Heritage Society have been invited to wear their Society sash as a tribute to their fellow member and friend.
The Society has also asked everyone to keep Belinda Waters and the entire Waters family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time of profound loss.
